Platte River Bible Church exists to glorify God by making disciples who abide in Christ, advocate for others in prayer, and advance the gospel across Wyoming and the World.

  • Core Commitments

    1. Commitment to God’s Word

We believe the Bible is God’s trustworthy and complete guide for salvation and everyday living. Through Scripture, we learn who God is—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—and discover His plan for our lives. God’s Word strengthens our faith in Jesus, protects us as believers, and equips us to serve Him and others well.

“The Bible is not merely a book about God, it is the very Word of God, alive and active in our lives.”
    — Paul David Tripp

    2. Community of the Saints

We grow best together. Being part of a loving church family means we encourage and build each other up in faith. In honest, caring relationships, we offer one another the gospel, create a safe space to grow, and learn how to love like Jesus. This kind of community shows the world the reality of Jesus’ love and the hope He offers.

“The Christian life is not a solo walk; it is a pilgrimage together with others, where love and truth are expressed and experienced.”
    — Martyn Lloyd-Jones

    3. Christ-Centered Discipleship

Following Jesus is for everyone—no matter your age or stage of life. We want all people to grow in their faith and become more like Christ, from childhood through old age. Our ministries, both locally and around the world, exist to help people take next steps in their journey with Jesus.

“Discipleship is not a program; it is a lifelong process of becoming the person God designed you to be.”
    — Kenneth Boa

  • Core Beliefs

The need for having foundational documents is both theological and practical. In a world where various thoughts, interpretations, and cultural opinions abound, we find it necessary to be clear in both our approach and convictions. These documents help us formulate a clear vision of where we stand and why.

    Foundational Document for PRBC

    Theological Documents:

Document 1: The Gospel Coalition Confession of Faith

Document 2: The Baptist Faith and Message 2000

Document 3: The Nashville Statement on Biblical Sexuality

Document 4: The Dallas Statement on Social Justice and the Gospel

Document 5: The Danvers Statement on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood

These documents serve to help us best love and seek the good of our neighbors. In a world of confusion, these help us provide clarity to issues that are not always easy, nor simple, to work through. Our goal is to hold to our convictions from the Bible with a love for all people. We invite you to ask questions for more information.

  • Core Philosophy of Ministry

    Philosophy of Ministry

To be a church faithful to our mission, we believe a simple, practical, and biblical philosophy of ministry best enables us to function well and fulfill God’s purposes.

    Discipleship Groups and Relationships

Every believer is called to participate in making disciples. While only some are gifted to preach, lead worship, or teach large groups, every Christian is called by God to contribute through intentional, encouraging relationships. This primarily happens in small groups and one-on-one settings where discipleship is personal and relational. These relationships fit within the broader biblical context that includes corporate worship, fellowship, prayer, and missions.

“The church is the fellowship of those who are called to live out the gospel together, helping one another follow Christ.”
    — Mark Dever

    Sunday Worship Gathering

Christians are not isolated individuals but a unified body joined together by faith in Jesus. The church exists to celebrate this unity and worship God corporately. Our weekly gatherings reflect the vision of Revelation 4:5, where people from every nation worship around God’s throne. As Paul reminds us, “Now you are the body of Christ, and individually members of it” (1 Corinthians 12:27). Gathering together regularly is vital—it shows the world that Jesus has created a community, not just isolated believers.

We prioritize meeting weekly to pray (Ephesians 6:18, Acts 2:42), sing (Ephesians 5:19), and hear the teaching of God’s Word (2 Timothy 3:16).

“Corporate worship is a rehearsal of the gospel that sustains the church and strengthens believers.”
    — Timothy Keller

    Missions and Church Planting

Missions and church planting go hand in hand—both are about taking the gospel to neighbors and nations, fulfilling Jesus’ Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). We partner with ministries that provide opportunities for global gospel work. When we focus on reaching the world, we also impact our local community. We aim to make Christ known everywhere and to equip every believer to be a missionary right where they live.

“God’s mission is the heartbeat of the church; it compels us to share the gospel both near and far.”
    — John Piper
